Electric bicycle classes, age, helmets, and paths

West Virginia defines Class 1 and Class 3 e-bikes under 750 watts; it has no Class 2 category. Class 1 generally has bicycle rights where regular bicycles are allowed. Class 3 is barred from bike/multi-use/single-use paths unless adjacent to a roadway or expressly allowed. Riders and passengers under 15 must wear helmets.
